Lembram-se de quando éramos miúdos e aparecia um brinquedo da moda e, re repente, toda a gente brincava com aquilo. Os yo-yo’s, por exemplo. Depois eram os berlindes. Depois outra cena qualquer. As modas vinham e iam.
No reportório filarmónico acontecem fenómenos semelhantes.
Ali no início dos anos 2000, de repente, apareceram os “76 trombones” e toda a gente começou a tocar.
“76 trombones” é uma popular melodia do musical “The Music Man” e dos filmes (1967 e 2003) inspirados no mesmo.
A história desta canção até é engraçada, dado que se trata da bazófia de um “professor” sobre uma banda com… 76 trombones. A letra é deliciosa e eu nem traduzi para não perder a piada:
With a hundred & ten cornets close at hand.
They were followed by rows and rows,

Ao fazer o arranjo para banda, Nahoiro Iway, meteu uns “pózinhos” lá pelo meio, incluindo o “The Stars and Stripes Forever”.
Tudo somado, soa sempre bem e tornou-se um clássico deste lado do Atlântico.
